Rob, I doubt they can achieve any of your eminently sensible suggestions.

Let's take the most obvious, footprint and location consolidation. They employ something like 4000 people in the UK.

Let's say they go for the Cobbets place + 2 others so roughly 700 in Cobbets old building and 2x1000 elsewhere (assuming some blood letting)

To accommodate 1000 people you're probably looking at somewhere in the order of 80k square feet per site.

So they'll need to identify and sign up, fit out and commission two very big sites in very little time with virtually no money.

That's if they can find a landlord that's going to allow them to sign the lease.

Then ahem there's the human side of the story, where are these sites going to be and will the existing workforce be able to get there (because they're not exactly going to be the firm everyone wants to join).

So, that rules out the lowest of the low hanging fruit.
