Because we have spent years cutting our own throats by trying to undercut each other instead of sticking together and ensuring we are paid a reasonable rate for a reasonable job and for not being pilloried for making a profit. I really do think TLS could do an awful lot more in promoting the profession in a positive light, after all we are very rarely the cause of the ills for which we are consulted, but often we provide the solution.
