I think it is a great idea! Having worked at Waitrose (part of the John Lewis partnership) as a student I remember benefitting from the shared annual profits (pro rata) which gave even myself and my smelly student friends a feeling of loyalty to John Lewis and a good work ethos. Sharing profits however small encourages staff full stop. This should be quite apart from salary increases which incidently John Lewis provide too! Totally agree with previous comment that there is no I in team. The brave start to a new era me thinks......
