We are all getting sucked in to the can't diagnose whiplash, fraud, malingering, excessive hire charges blah blah issues that the insurers and the government continue to peddle with no factual evidence whatsoever. The real issue is the fact that car insurance is required by law, everybody has to have it with no choice and so, by definition, this is where the insurance industry makes all it's profit. Joe public cannot do anything about the cost of it, the way it is dealt with and ultimately will now have to pay for it even though they won't be able to make a genuine claim when injured in an RTA. The whole thing stinks and if you look back over time all of the things the industry is bringing up as what is bad about it have all been government "reforms" at some point. As with all of the other implemented changes this is a deal done behind closed doors and will probably be brought in with very little consultation with the legal profession as the past dictates!
