When I read this in Lawtel, I read it as meaning that basically everyone is treated the same by the Court whether litigant in person or represented so it should encourage people to seek legal advice. It is right that litigants in person should not broadly become a protected class of litigants but on the other hand lets not forget that those of us who are offering bundled services are at the coal face mainly trying to assist litigants whom the current government has let down by withdrawing access to justice in the form of legal aid. Those who oppose bundled services are basically saying that they only want to act for rich litigants who can afford "the full monty" and those that cannot can go stew. They will rue the day certainly on the High Street as people with limited funds will simply not instruct them and they will lose business as a consequence. So bundled services should be here to stay, but it is for the "system" to make it work properly as well as up to the solicitors to get their retainers right in the first place.
