No one was given a kick in the teeth. May's lawyers are entitled to their fees from him, even if he did not get them back inter partes. But you have to wonder how costs of £208,000 were incurred in a case which settled for £25,000 before Defences were served. If there had been a solicitor on the record, he would surely have been given a kicking by the Costs Judge.
