1. Make sure you understand very early on that the Claims Handlers Society and Claims Handlers Regulatory Authority are NOT there to support you or to protect your interests.

2. Ditto The Bar Council and Barristers.

3. Ditto (D) DJ's and the Courts.

4. Make sure that you visit Law Society Hall on a day when they are not making up loads of Solicitors (loosely called), as the Hall is not open most of the week because of the numbers of dodgy Colleges offering LPC and increase on the roll.

5. Ditto when the Claims Handling Society are not mouthing off about their most recent Diversity 'Initiative' ..

6. Make sure you don't ask the Practice Advice 'Service' to do anything difficult.

7. Ditto above but in respect of policy (i.e. Central Funds or Legal Aid).

8. Make sure you plan for your exit as soon as possible. There is unlikely to be a 'profession' in about ten years time.

9. Ditto above but make sure that you do get the Practice Advisory Service to tell you how you do this through an ABS or MDP (after all they are salivating at these entities).

10. I shall leave point 10 for anyone else who might offer some sound advice ....
