An obvious, sensible result for anyone who wishes to uphold the rule of law.

The claimants argued that triggering article 50, which the government accepts is not able to be withdrawn once triggered, repeals much of the ECA 1979. It does, you can't really argue against that.

Given that, and the fact that the government does not have the power to repeal laws without parliamentary approval, the result was obvious. Parliament must be the ones to trigger article 50, not the government.
