It is telling that, for all the dictatorial changes to the school curriculum over the last 30 years, none of the self-satisfied Ministers of Education has imposed a compulsory element, inc a GCSE, of how school-leavers will be governed, what their rights will be to resist that govt, how those rights were reluctantly conceded and how the legal system, inc judges, have had to rule on their behalf against repeated govt attempts to curtail or subvert them; they should be warned that, if ever a conflict arises between the Govt and the Courts, they should consider carefully which side, on a long view, they would prefer to win and why.
