9.57 - wishful thinking I'm afraid but to be fair, the majority of older practitioners dabbling in everything and anything is the issue that lenders have.

I have worked at one of these large firms, 100 + files? Try 250 +. Normally with 2-3 support staff and a typing dept. Now though the support staff are offered career progression so they have a loosely supervised caseload of 50-100 files themselves. A 19 year old kid fresh out of school.

The only consolation is the amount of toxic files in archive these firms are sitting on.

But whilst many of said firms are the main players in the CA, nothing will change unfortunately. It's sad, but seems to be the way things are going particularly bearing in mind risk adverse lenders.

And even if the firms in question are forced to claim on their insurance in the future, they are CA members - don't think they won't get a renewal for PII at a cheaper rate than many firms get. And don't even dream they will be removed from any given panel.

Oh and just you look at the phone number and address for the CA... one of the main players themselves.

You can't beat the the system I'm afraid unless there's something bigger than the CA to make changes. The Law Soc/SRA won't. The CLC won't.
