Except the gravy train of collecting insurance premiums for car insurance, which we are all required to have by law. That sure is a big gravy train.

Imagine, remove all right to whiplash claims - no PSLA, no payouts, no legal costs or disbursements, reduced staff overheads, reduced administration. Tag on an increased small claims limit meaning less payouts, reduced legal costs and disbursements, reduced staff overheads, reduced administration. Have a tariff system for injuries - the same. Saving £40 per year per premium. Apparently. With no guarantee that will be passed on, or if it is passed on the actual saving can be calculated so it comes out as less, but may well be swallowed up by increased premiums or IPT anyway.

Cynic, moi?
