Exactly. But my figures were wrong. assuming that there are 40 counties in England and Wales (I think?), then there are 1500 CLAIMS HANDLERS PER COUNTY. THAT IS AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT.

How on earth did it even get to this gargantuan situation?

Or is that Solicitors and that there are on top at least 300000 paralegals also doing the work?

If that is the case then there could be a many as 7500 PER COUNTY but even allowing for half of them doing PI claims manufacturing, I bet there are 3000 at a conservative estimate per county. ....

Disgraceful.

How on earth did claims handling become the norm for Solicitors?

Poor representation and poor management of the profession imho.
