Smells a bit fishy anonymous.

The massive elephant in the room here is that insurance companies were, and probably still are the most successful and sophisticated CMC out there.

They have just worked that the ban on referral fees has made the PI side of their business trickier and it would save them more money if they worked together to prevent claims being paid out rather than so explicitly profiting from them.

Spurred on by a govt telling them that they were pushing at an open door, the PR campaign to smear claimants as fraudsters bumping up their insurance premium to ensure that the public are on side when the reforms come in.

The irony is that those that complain most about unnecessary claimants and parasite lawyers will be the first to complain about an insurers conduct when they are faced with having to go cap in hand to them because somebody wasn't looking where they were going.

Be careful of what you wish for.
