Have you read something, Josephine, that I've not seen? Where is it said that the business of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan 'depends on English' or 'the English Legal System'? I know of many businesses which whilst they view 'perfect English' as pre-requisite for their employees, do not see a need to base those businesses in the UK. And whilst Quinn Emanuel Urquhart &Sullivan may be involved in the resolution of disputes using British fora, I suspect that the business of its Bruxelles office will extend to doing the same in the jurisdictions of the other twenty seven EU states. I suspect that this won't be the last such move of this sort. One may yet hear of the last commercial dispute resolution lawyer to leave the UK being asked to turn off the lights as he/she leaves the building!
