This is truly very sad (and unexpected) news and I am sorry on a personal level that Catherine has had to resign. The Law Society does a huge amount of good for our profession, much of it unsung and under ther radar, and catherine was one fo the driving forces behind much of this of late. This sort of news undermines The Law Society's effectiveness in this regard and I therefore very much hope that our very able President is able to pick up the pieces quickly and help implement the reforms that are clearly needed.
