An important article. Solicitors are more accountable than they have ever been, to their regulator(s), clients, employers, courts, insurers and the media. In my field I see an increasing number of solicitors suffering from mental health difficulties. The causes are varied, but aggressive work culture and increased regulatory attention (and the fear of the process) are often cited. One has to add, that every e-mail update from the Gazette includes examples of solicitors in disciplinary trouble - this additional exposure is not helpful.
