Erm, isn't this how law firms work anyway? It was when I was still in private practice over a decade ago. Maybe it wasn't made crystal clear to the client quite what work was being done by unqualified or junior staff (other than in chunks of time recorded, not massively transparent) but otherwise it's a bit blooming obvious that you won't have the senior partner doing the paginating (reductio ad absurdum).

What does occur to me is that the public proclamation of this and its reiteration without comment by the LS inhouse paper does rather publicly invite the question as to whether being a solicitor is actually necessary in the majority of non high street work areas. Is it just becoming useful for the (admittedly eye watering expensive) insurance coverage?
