Mightn't it be a good idea to see the draft rules once published, before criticising them? They don't exist at present, so what is there to complain about?

I have made the point on here so many times - the practice rules are there to protect solicitors as much as to protect clients, and yet so many see them as simply a means for the SRA to clobber people with. Used creatively, the practice rules can give you significant competitive advantage.

Change is opportunity. I suggest that subscribers to this thread see what the draft rules say, comment on them - don't simply complain on here - and consider how you can use them to your advantage. if you don't, I can guarantee that there will be others doing precisely that, and finding that competitive advantage that I refer to above.
