There were not 90,000 respondents, rather the research considered the data gathered from The Labour Force Survey.

Further when the data is balanced on a like for like basis of person the 'gap' is £2422 not £6800.

There is of course a difference which the data or analysis does not seem to consider: there is a difference between £earnings as a 2y PQE associate at Clyde & Co in Manchester and as a 2y PQE associate at Clifford Chance in London.

But enough of the data, of course it's easier to get into some firms with the 'right' background and this isn't going to change in the foreseeable future, if anything it's probably going to get worse which is bad for the profession and in the longer term the rule of law.
