The problem is low pay and poor morale. There is no relation between the work immigration judges now do and that just a few years earlier. Cases are more complex and time consuming but the response of the MoJ to this has been to cut judicial pay and effectively require judges to do more for less. Judges are now paid on a points system. The rate for a one point case is less than my garage charges for a technician on an hourly basis. Does the MoJ/Government care? Don't be silly! They are not interested. Ideology reigns supreme.
