Oh deary me. A compulsory system of insurance so that the risk is spread among the population. That's fair. Private insurance companies to ensure competition - sensible. Reasonable rule changes targeted to prevent fraud - not quite what's happening is it, but HMG are bending over backwards to accommodate their mates. A long overdue change to the discount rate for accelerated payment so that those compensated don't run out of money. Also fair but HMG's mates in insurance now feel that they can get matters altered to suit them as and when they want. Just like the Unions in the 60's and 70's. The projected or threatened insurance premium price hike would be to ensure that profit margins are maintained. So be it. There is no justification for these people throwing a hissy fit because victims of serious accidents will now be compensated properly. They should reserve their hatred and loathing for genuine fraudsters. Most seriously injured people have to fight to the death to get compensation. That is the real scandal here.
