The ABI don't like something that the MoJ decide to do........so, only a day later, they are able to get a meeting with the Chancellor, no less, to try and ensure that Hammond will put the (metaphoric) squeeze on Truss.

a) that's a surprisingly flexible diary that our country's Chancellor has, I wonder if he'd ever meet MASS/APIL that quickly?

b) it speaks volumes that ABI ran straight to the Treasury to ask them to help them out. A sign, perhaps, of what strategy they used when whiplash reform was stalling last year, and when Truss announced those reform plans were shelved? I suspect Hammond had to clear space in his diary then, too
