1. A reduction of the present minimum terms would be a PR disaster for the profession - ironically suggested by our regulator.

2. Surely however 'small' a solicitor's business may be it is entirely forseeable that anyone could rack up a claim in excess of £500,00 even doing even basic conveyancing and will writing. Estates and property of this value are everywhere, even in areas where deprivation will be pleaded. A really stupid idea.
