It is encouraging to see so much recognition that the current government (and I would argue all conservative governments) opposes the rule of law and seeks to make the courts and justice accessible only to the very rich. But in one sense judges - structurally - are indeed enemies of the people. They re intrinsically a part of the system by which landlords oppress tenants, those without money to pay (sometimes unjust) taxes are fined and imprisoned, those too poor to have a home are fined for not having homes, and the state criminalises those it wishes to criminalise. True some of them do try to implement justice - but they are part of a system of control.
