So the conviction rate at summary trial is 98% - but no link to the figures, and all the figures you are likely to find online show it to be around the mid 80s. Additionally it has been well documented over the years just why youths shouldn't be subjected to a crown court trial and should be kept in the youth court.

This article also doesn't address the benefits for a young defendant of the lower sentencing of the youth court, or the fact that before a youth gets to court they will typically have been diverted three times.

What this does show however is it would be better for the lawyers to go to crown court as opposed to youth court as the pay is better.
