The Fixed Term Parliament Act was meant to make these snap elections more difficult.
To call an early election the House of Commons will have to vote for there to be such an early election, with two thirds of MPs voting in favour.
Jeremy Corbyn has said he is in favour of an early election, but hat will mean a lot of Labour MPs having to vote for the end of their jobs.
