Anon@22:44. It doesn't really prove anything, though does it. They reorganise the legal status of NHS bodies around about once every 18 months or so. Area Health Authorities, Acute Services NHS Trusts, Clinical Commissioning Groups, Fundholding GP Practices, Regional Health Authorities, NHS Delivery Agencies, Foundation Trusts, Hospital Management Committees, County Councils, Metropolitan District Councils, Combined Authorities, and so on.

Has been going on since the late 1970s and it keeps an army of people gainfully employed (some of whom end up being our regulators).

The reality is that Addenbrookes in Cambridge WAS privatised, and that was by Saint Andrew of Burnham, soon to be mayor of Leigh, very much in the Labour party.
