John (15:33) - Agreed. The one question I have not had an answer to is why it is anti-democratic to want a second referendum once we really do know what we are in for - that is once we have something closer to evidence of the reality of leaving. Surely it is a very democratic thing to do? At the time of the referendum last year owing to an utterly pathetic campaign by Remain (it has to be said) and a tissue of lies from Leave (with their promises of £350 million a week more for the NHS and who used "fear" every bit as much if not more than Remain - fear of the "immigrant" for example) we got a very narrow majority for Leave.
I am a patriot, a heart-broken one, because I fear for the damage my country is going to suffer as a result of lies and immoral pandering to people's worst instincts. We were riding the crest of a wave (given the dire situation globally) and we've given away our surf board and are now bobbing about in the waves hoping we might find a bigger and better one.
