Mr Maloney, those in glasshouses should not throw stones.

In 2012, we had the de Silva report into the murder of Irish lawyer Pat Finucane was published. It concluded that British agents were actively involved in his death. However, to this day, not a single person has been brought to justice. Ditto the actions of the agent known as Stakeknife. Not much different in my book to France's actions with regard to Rainbow Warrior or Russia and Lugovoy.

How can we talk about fundamental rights when there is not one case where a common law right has successfully been relied on to overturn a statutory provision? Instead of Marbury v Madison, we have Pickin v BRB. The HRA, with all its faults, allows statute law to be called into question.
