35 years ago when I was an Articled Clerk, one of the solicitors at my firm acted for a family who brought a claim alleging that they had been ill (vomiting etc), nearly two years before. They put this down to 'bird droppings' in the soup as the hotel had a retractable roof over the dining room. I thought it was nonsense at the time and a scam to get some cash. The hotel, in London, paid them a decent figure to make them go away.

There really is new new under the (holiday) sun!
