I think the problem is that the Consumer Panel are the ones who are out of touch. I must admit, I was one of those initially fooled into purchasing the cheapest car insurance through one of the price comparison sites. This worked perfectly well for a few years until I found I actually needed to claim and discovered there was a perfectly good reason my product was cheaper, it was massively inferior both in terms of the level of cover and the level of service. So now I don't use price comparison for insurance and purchase it from a provider who is not on price comparison websites or through a particular supermarket brand provider (I know both deliver the service and cover I want and need).

Do we want people finding out they have an inferior legal product when it is too late to resolve the problem. The average person can recognise when they are not receiving their gas or electricity properly or are not receiving a proper banking service, are they able to see whether or not they are getting the correct legal services?
