Can someone help me? If a family member suspects that an attorney is misusing his/her powers under a LPA - or even if the attorney refuses to provide answers to reasonable questions from other family members - is there a procedure for reporting that and, if so, what action - if any - is the OPG required to take in consequence? I ask because one of my siblings was appointed a LPA attorney to a parent and, now that the parent has lost capacity and the LPA has been registered, the sibling refuses to provide any information regarding the parent's financial affairs and justifies that by saying that these are confidential and if the parent had wanted me to know about them, the parent would have appointed me as attorney either in a sole capacity or jointly with my sibling.
