I agree entirely with SL. I remember when I was training, sitting in a Trial and having some of our correspondence read out. I always remember that moment when I'm writing any sort of correspondence and then choose my words very carefully.

I also find that against an aggressive, unreasonable opponent, being overly nice and polite often makes more of an impact than rising to their provocation. Then when I get to Court, I just refer the Court to their correspondence as evidence of how unreasonable their conduct has been.
