I side with Winston Leachman, it is up to the defendant to choose who they wish - the Judiciary must have no say in the matter.
But in my own case the Judiciary allowed the CPS prosecutrix to ban myself as her locum (and the driver involved) to the rear of the Court room, either because they did not know the Law they were intended to serve or just pure incompetence- and the biggest insult was the Judge Davies verbally allowed the cases to be reheard as the convicted person had broken her arm and could not drive. Maybe he is hoping that I will die before the rehearing now over two years have elapsed ,since his promise . I had paper copies the police who was driving forms copies but prevented from assisting by production of those copy.
