They need to do this much more slowly so those starting university this Autumn (and law firms) know exactly where they stand. Eg would a non law graduate starting university this September ideally take SQE1 whilst doing their non law degree eg working in a law firm for the summer holidays in year 2 of their degree with a kind of day release to study and with the SQE exam at the end of the summer, then they go into year 3 of their final non law degree having passed SQE1 and then on graduation go straight to work for the law firm (I am talking about top graduates here) for a salary as some kind of trainee who is then sent out on some day release over the 2 year TC during which they pass the SQE2 so they qualify 2 years after graduating rather than 4 years after now?
