You can get more from less.

Remember what it was like taxing your car?

Step one, almost forget,
step two, spend an hour swearing as you try and find the necessary bits of paper which you put on the mantelpiece but your wife/husband/significant other/cat has moved "somewhere sensible"
3. Step three, get to the Post Office and be told that they don't do car tax and you have to go to the post office the other side of town.
4. Step 4, when at the other post office, spend 30 minutes queuing with the salt of the earth / massed lumpen proles.
5. Have a sloth like jobsworth go through the papers before arguing that your signature on the cheque doesn't match the one on the card and has to get the resident graphologist to come over and compare the two until you lose the will to live.
6. After producing three forms of i/d eventually get the tax disc.

Added fun could be had when your tax disc had been stolen and you need a replacement.

Now, last time I needed to tax the car it took well under 30 seconds.

The LAA, Legal Aid, the Courts and MOJ could deliver and awful lot more on the existing resources: that I still take the view that we need greater availability of LA and greater rates paid to LA practitioners.
