It is true one gets more from truly efficient processes. The problem is that the ConDem and Tory policy of ripping the heart out of public services by getting rid of huge numbers of experienced people has not worked. Evidence?
Cuts to numbers of prison officers followed by the recruitment of prison officers to fill the gap created by Grayling.
Cuts to numbers working in CPS and the Police so that cases are poorly prepared, evidence not disclosed leading to cases being adjourned.
Lack of numbers working in HMCTS and the reduction in Court sittings which means there are delays and long periods between charges being laid and trials concluded.
Incompatible and fractured IT systems across the entire system as a result of a failure to invest.
The reduction in Probation Officer numbers and the creation of CRCs has failed to improve the service and indeed has resulted in less efficienct processes.
Whilst less money is allocated (purportedly therefore a saving to the public purse to be celebrated) the justice service is much much worse and less efficient and less effective and much less value for money for taxpayers.
In short-less for less.
