This individual was not a legal executive. As he was an Associate member of CILEx he had only passed (or been exempt from) certain examinations. He was certainly not a "legal executive" as the title chartered legal executive is indeed reserved for qualified Fellows i.e. those who have completed or been exempted from all relevant examinations, completed the requisite period of time in practice (under appropriate supervision) and been admitted as a Fellow by CILEx/CILEx Regulation.
I agree the Gazette should update the article and its headline and its journalists should ensure they have correct information rather than submitting erroneous material.
