This has to be the way forward. The fact is that like the crash for cash frauds many of these claims are fraudulent. It has to be stopped and if solicitors are not willing to be more careful of work they take then I don't blame the government for taking action to stop it. There has not been a 500 percent increase in reports to hotels abroad of food poisoning and nor do the Germans and Dutch report any surge in food poisoning claims. This has been caused by an industry keen to find sources of dodgy income being forced out of RTA into another lucrative area of work. Claims that this is removing access to justice are over egged ( if that isn't risking salmonella). The fact is that the vast majority of the valid claims are themselves only minor cases of a gyppy tummy which don't warrant compensation anyway. If a hotel is seriously at fault then the authorities will take note. I don't expect this note to be popular but I believe it to be true.
