Not sure what legal aid system he thinks he’s talking about given crime has been on fixed fees for years and fees that haven’t risen. There’s no way we’re paid for hours worked. The whole system is on the verge of collapse. The changes to bail are likely to kill off firms as you wait months for any decision on charges and then ages for clients to be summonsed.
