I do this anyhow but certainly consider its something which should be enforced.

Something I have thought about and an extension from this article is the development of an online, cloud-based (and I apologise for using the word but I can't think of another right now) portal that the parties and court staff/judges can use for a) e-filing documentation, b) communications with the court and c) electronic creation of court orders etc.

It would be relatively straightforward for the court to give each case a unique code to enable users to get into the case, it could be included on the Notice of Issue for example. And to prevent those without access to technology being excluded, those issuing the case could opt out of such a system by indicating as such on the claim form. E-filing documents by email is often subject to file size restrictions whereas uploading files would not be. Orders being generated online rather than sent out saves them being lost and saves costs for all.

I imagine something like this is already in the pipeline in the new world of electronic justice but it's something I can see actually working, subject to proper investment in IT of course.
