All services will be affected by what is going to pass, not just the legal profession. But lawyers will be front line, no doubt. If a hard Brexit occurs/is perceived to be likely, UK based law firms with no presence in the EU may be hit in the short term for inward advice into the EU. But realistically, such firms must have been partnering with local EU firms already. One interesting area is how the EU may seek to limit dispute resolution on certain EU matters to EU states. It is happening already. For example in MIFIR, coming into force 3 January 2018. The UK will not be a forum for these disputes if it leaves the EU without a deal.
