Whose idea was this? What a nightmare. I am also a Scottish solicitor, retired, and until I worked in Scotland, I did not realise that for most purposes, such as conveyancing, criminal law, children's law, probate, civil litigation, it's a completely separate jurisdiction which bears little resemblance to England. The SNP have already intimated they won't accept a UK bill of rights and are happy with the ECJ so I don't see how this is all going to fly without a major constitutional problem. Neither the Scots nor their legislature voted to leave, much less to hand over civil rights to the UK and the Supreme Court. What a mess. It's all going to come unstuck when they realise that this and the Irish border are far more difficult to sort out than the trade deal and immigration which, of course, is the easiest thing in the world according to...what's his name?
