I think everyone agrees the system is broken and needs fixing. What no-one can agree on is how to get back to the good old days when PI files were run properly. An impossible task now with costs having been slashed to the bone.
As an example, I'm acting for my son in an RTA. He's the lead car hit from behind by another car that has already been hit by vehicle 3. My son has genuinely suffered from whiplash. He's had a small time off work, intereference with sports and gym training (he was one of the few PI Claimants who regularly and genuinely went to the gym pre-accident!) We're at just over 3 months post-accident and he's pretty well better. Just a few minor creaks and stiffness but he's back to training and playing sports.
The system breaks when he's seen by a GP expert through the medco system. His appointment took no more than 2 minutes and whilst he was examined he wasn't asked about current symptoms!
The report has just arrived. I could have written it myself. It says my son will recovery completely within 6 months or so but he would benefit from at least 6 sessions of physiotherapy!!
A complaint is on its way to the medco instructed agency and the expert.
A lot of other firms would just let it pass. That's where the "dodgy" claims are getting through.
