If you have any involvement with the CPS that have unlimited funding/resources then be afraid. Be very afraid. I recall one very poor Trainee that went straight from defence practice to CPS with a year in between. Knew which side the butter was spread. Actually although very vocal and bigged herself up, she obviously knew where her interests lay.

Interesting Alison Saunders' attitude though. It has almost become a crusade to prosecute. And of course who wouldn't have such an approach when you have such unlimited resources?

When I made the only app I made to the CPS, they were far more phlegmatic then (a Crown Prosecution Service not a Crown Persecution Service they liked to refer to themselves as), and knew what Sect 10 POOA 1985 actually meant and did in a great deal of spirit follow it. Now I doubt if most Crown Persecutors could spell that piece of legislation.
