An unusual but relevant feature of this case was that all of those now convicted were examined by the same doctor on the same day at the office of the solicitors who were initially acting for them. I have never ever come across a medical expert who is so accommodating. It strikes me that in light of what I think must be regarded as a very unusual arrangement for the preparation of multiple medical reports, it is perhaps a little unsurprising that whilst making no finding against the solicitors the Judge thought it appropriate to raise concern about the solicitor's conduct.
