Just to throw in the mix, some examples of complaints we have had, no doubt all of which would be counted in a complaints figure on the website include:-

1) A father in a family contact case accused of bullying and intimidating the mother necessitating the police to be called. We represented him through to the final hearing, where it was sorted by consent. *THREE YEARS* later, he phones the office, says he never got his final order (which was of course sent to him) and if it isn't ready for him within the hour, he will attend our office and there'll be hell to pay. When we pointed out his file had long since been archived and it would take time to retrieve (and a retrieval fee that is in our terms and conditions) he advised he would sit in the office until he got what he wanted.

2) An email I received last night from an existing client, the text of which read:-
"Subject: I suppose
Email Body: you haven't checked me on [certain social media websites]"
Literally that was it word for word. Half an hour later she sent another one saying that her case was stressful and that if she gets a heart attack it will be my fault.

3) A residuary beneficiary in a probate who wanted to renounce a leasehold old people's shared ownership flat she'd inherited, because the housing association kept demanding she pay the rent. We advised that one of our solicitors was actually executor, so said beneficiary needn't worry about the housing association, and she wouldn't be liable for the rent anyway - it falls to the estate. She still demanded it be surrendered and the keys handed back. We refused to do so, which created a bit of bad blood. We eventually sold the flat, and gave the beneficiary her money (which she wouldn't have got if not for us). She complained to the Legal Ombudsman that we didn't follow her instructions, and also that we used the wrong estate agent, and best of all, that somebody dealing with her in the office had untidy nails.
