HMCTS is withdrawing from the business of enforcing debt.

At one time if you knew where a debtor banked but not where he worked you could bang in an application for what we used to call a garnishee order on the last day of the month; it would be attended to the next day and if the order nisi was made it was drawn up the same day- and you could have it in the hands of the bank while there might be something to seize.

now you send it to Salford and wait. and hope. It will probably be served at the end of the month and attach nothing.
