The plain fact of the matter is some law firms have not been issuing statute bills and this entity and another have been taking advantage of that fact. It's a great money making idea BUT the court should not be clogged up with this. If you make a £1000 deduction on a £4000 there's probably £1000 work been carried out but the higher up the scale you go proving you've spent £10,000 on a £40,000 file and £100.000 on a £400,000 file it gets much harder to prove. Do a statute bill on every case and make sure you don't over charge the client. This business model will not hold weight if the law firm can prove quickly that they served a statute bill with the necessary notice that they have a right to challenge the bill
