Dual representation

In 1969 I worked on the country's first-ever consumer research into conveyancing. Six thousand "Which?" members were asked why matters took as long as they did. The second most frequent response (after chain completion) was the write-in " other side's solicitor slow".

Conveyancers have had nearly another half-century of passing the buck and now change is under consideration. Hooray

The solution is, however, insufficient. Conveyancers should be obliged to subscribe to a binding system of supply chain management.
